Robots are using to automate the process of installing sand cores in a die and extracting castings from a die or mold of gravity die casting machines.
Modern robots allow to perform two technological operations: installing sand cores or metal inserts in the die and extracting castings and moving them outside the working area of the casting machine eliminating quite dangerous human manual operation and increasing production efficiency.
Robots are designed and manufactured in conjunction with the required size of castings and cores, the design of the casting machine and the technological features of the casting process.
The main parameters of the extracting robot for a vertical die line are given in Table 1 on the example of the model SA-Foundry SA-ER-10.
